 Here it is....finally...winter break. I hope you will enjoy these memories: Halloween! It was fun to dress up.  We played some games in class. The Dance-a-thon was a lot of fun! Native American History Month Thank you to Mrs Sweetman, our ongoing Wednesday volunteer, as well as Will, James, and Joel's moms who pitched in on Shelters day! We could not have done it without you! Celebrating the Holidays We discussed and saw videos for many of the Winter holidays around the world, including, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and the Winter Solstice. In Science, we studied Conifer trees and learned how to tell the difference between the many evergreens in our area. Here is some of our artwork: We observed the 'intelligience' of a pine cone by observing it before and after being exposed to water. The cones close up to protect the seed! Crafts We glittered pine cones, painted t-shirts and frosted mason jars with salt to make luminaria. I hope everything made it home safely! Candy Cane Science T...
